Christian Religious Education Curriculum And Its Role In Social Transformation

This research critically examines the role of the Christian Religious Education (PAK) curriculum in encouraging social transformation. Christian religious education, as an integral part of the education system in Indonesia, has great potential to shape characters and values that support positive change in society. This research aims to analyze the existing PAK curriculum, identify its strengths and weaknesses, and formulate the key elements needed to make PAK an effective social transformation agent. The methodology used is document analysis and literature study, with reference to curriculum theories, social transformation, and theological perspectives. The findings show that the current PAK curriculum often still focuses on doctrinal aspects and places less emphasis on developing critical skills, social awareness, and concrete action. This study proposes recommendations to reconstruct the PAK curriculum to be more relevant to the challenges of the times, as well as to be able to equip students with the knowledge, skills, and values needed to contribute to positive social change. This research also highlights the importance of the role of PAK teachers as role models and facilitators in the transformation process
